Chapter 24: The Forest Again

                 INT. SHRIEKING SHACK - NIGHT

                 HARRY looks at SNAPE in shock.

                                         HARRY
                           I must die. You're the one who's
                           been helping us! You sent the
                           silver doe to lead us to the
                           sword, sent Dobby to rescue us
                           from the cellar!

                                         SNAPE
                           Do not fear death, Harry. One door
                           closes, and... another...

                 With that, SNAPE is dead.

                                         HARRY
                           One door closes... I open at the
                           close...

                 He takes out the Snitch that Dumbledore had left for him,
                 and presses it to his mouth.

                                         HARRY (cont'd)
                           I am about to die.

                 The metal shell breaks open, revealing a black stone.

                                         HARRY (cont'd)
                           The Resurrection Stone!

                 The stone glows, and ghostly figures of JAMES, SIRIUS,
                 LUPIN and LILY appear around him, glimmering in the
                 darkness, and smiling at HARRY.

                                         LILY
                           You've been so brave.

                                         JAMES
                           We are so proud of you.

                                         HARRY
                           Does it hurt?

                                         SIRIUS
                           Dying? Not at all.

                                         LUPIN
                           Quicker and easier than falling
                           asleep.

                                         HARRY
                           I didn't want you to die, any of
                           you. You'll stay with me?

                                         JAMES
                           Until the very end.

                                         SIRIUS
                           We are part of you. Invisible to
                           anyone else.

                                         HARRY
                                (to LILY)
                           Stay close to me.



                 EXT. FORBIDDEN FOREST - NIGHT

                 HARRY is marching through the forest with JAMES and LILY
                 on one side of him, and SIRIUS and LUPIN on the other.



                 EXT. CLEARING, FORBIDDEN FOREST - NIGHT

                 HARRY and his ghostly companions enter a clearing, where
                 VOLDEMORT is standing before a crowd of Death Eaters.
                 HAGRID is bound to a nearby tree.

                                         HARRY
                           I have come.

                                         HAGRID
                           No! Harry, what're yeh —

                                         VOLDEMORT
                           Quiet! Harry Potter. The Boy Who
                           Lived.

                 He aims his wand at HARRY.

                                         VOLDEMORT (cont'd)
                           Avada Kedavra!

                 There is a flash of green light, and both HARRY and
                 VOLDEMORT are thrown apart and onto the ground. The stone
                 flies out of HARRY's hand, and his four companions
                 vanish. VOLDEMORT lands in a sitting position, while
                 HARRY lies spread-eagled with his chest to the ground and
                 his head on its side, facing away from VOLDEMORT,
                 unmoving.

                                         HAGRID
                                (whispering)
                           No.

                 VOLDEMORT gets to his feet.

                                         VOLDEMORT
                           The boy... is he dead?

                 Silence.

                                         VOLDEMORT (cont'd)
                           Narcissa, examine him.

                 NARCISSA approaches HARRY warily. Bending over him, she
                 feels his neck for a pulse. A moment later, she gets up.

                                         NARCISSA
                           He is dead!

                                         HAGRID
                                (anguished)
                           Noooooooooooo!

                 VOLDEMORT screeches evilly with laughter. The Death
                 Eaters yell and stamp their feet in triumph.
