Chapter 15: Shell Cottage

                 INT. LIVING ROOM, SHELL COTTAGE - NIGHT

                 HARRY enters the living room. RON and HERMIONE rise from
                 the sofa.

                                         HARRY
                           Hermione, you're awake! How are
                           you?

                 HERMIONE smiles weakly.

                                         HERMIONE
                           Better.

                 GRIPHOOK has been examining the sword of Gryffindor,
                 which is lying on a table. Now he walks over to HARRY.

                                         GRIPHOOK
                           You are a very unusual wizard,
                           Harry Potter.

                                         HARRY
                           What?

                                         GRIPHOOK
                           You buried the elf. I watched you
                           from the window of the bedroom
                           next door. You also rescued a
                           goblin. You brought me here.

                                         HARRY
                           Griphook, you probably don't
                           remember —

                                         GRIPHOOK
                           — that I showed you to your vault,
                           the first time you visited
                           Gringotts?

                                         HARRY
                           Right. I need your help, Griphook.
                           I need to break into a Gringotts
                           vault.

                 RON and HERMIONE stare at HARRY.

                                         GRIPHOOK
                           It is impossible.

                                         HARRY
                           No, it isn't. A vault was broken
                           into the day I first met you.

                                         GRIPHOOK
                           That vault was empty at the time.
                           Its protection was minimal.

                                         HARRY
                           The vault we need to get into
                           isn't empty. It belongs to
                           Bellatrix Lestrange.

                                         GRIPHOOK
                           What do you seek within the
                           Lestranges' vault? The sword that
                           lies inside it is a fake. The one
                           you have here is the real one.

                                         HARRY
                           But the fake sword isn't the only
                           thing in that vault, is it?
                           Perhaps you've seen the other
                           things there?

                                         GRIPHOOK
                           It is against our code to speak of
                           the secrets of Gringotts. We are
                           the guardians of fabulous
                           treasures.

                                         HARRY
                           I'm not trying to get myself any
                           treasure. I'm not after personal
                           gain.

                                         GRIPHOOK
                           I can believe that, Harry Potter.
                           Goblins and elves are not used to
                           the protection and respect you
                           have shown this night.

                                         HARRY
                           Will you help us?

                                         GRIPHOOK
                                (hesitating)
                           I will help you, Harry Potter, in
                           return for the sword of Godric
                           Gryffindor.

                 HARRY glances at HERMIONE and RON.

                                         HARRY
                           We need to discuss this, Griphook.
                           Could you give us a few minutes?



                 INT. KITCHEN, SHELL COTTAGE - MOMENTS LATER

                 HARRY, HERMIONE and RON enter the kitchen and begin a
                 whispered conversation.

                                         HERMIONE
                           Harry, are you saying there's a
                           Horcrux in the Lestranges' vault?

                                         HARRY
                           You saw how terrified Bellatrix
                           was when she thought we'd been in
                           there.

                                         RON
                           We can't give up the sword, Harry.
                           We need it to destroy the other
                           Horcruxes!

                                         HARRY
                           We'll tell Griphook he can have
                           the sword after he's helped us get
                           into the vault, but we'll avoid
                           telling him exactly when he can
                           have it.
